I’ve felt a lot of grief and loneliness for the past 2 years from losing the love of my life, my husband Burt. This September we would have celebrated our 50th anniversary.
Thank you for reminding me that I still have a lot of love to give .
Thank you. I’m not looking to have my ego stroked, I’m simply saying that I do forget sometimes that I am not only worthy of love but that I have people who actually do love me. And one of them is my husband Dana for 51 years now. It is important to realize one’s blessings and the worth that comes with them. Thank you for the reminder.
Thank you for this lovely reminder of what really matters. For me it’s always been my family, my heart! I’ve been a single Mom for many years. I’m 76 now and lost so many I love , family friends etc…. It’s a challenge trying to navigate the aging situation where I’ve had a lot to learn and not be afraid of the unknown! Deal with it! But it is no different than many others at this time of life . Changes in health and body issues., energy and problems walking and getting around. So different than the busy active spitfire I used to be… I’m tired more now but have time for my painting and sketching…and my two little fur babies Annabella and Mackey. Enjoying the fact after college etc.. my children and grandchildren all came back home where they loved growing up! As I did to care for my Mother when she needed me. My children’s father passed 2 months ago and they miss him greatly as do I. We grew up together and shared many good friends. We didn’t fight hard enough for our marriage but we always deeply cared for each other.i too know what love is but let it go too easily….. but I have so much to be thankful for . It’s so easy to get sidetracked on other important things especially the future my family is left with, my beautiful country and all the lovely people in our lives! Well I better stop chatting I could go on and on.. sincerely thank you with all my heart for sharing and the kind words and yes our political and spiritual issues many we certainly share in ideas and hope. I would love to join and I most certainly will. We all need each other ! Best to your wonderful wife and family as well. You are blessed. Carolyn
Bless your heart! I needed to hear every word you said! Keep up the amazing work you do! You give me HOPE that we can survive Trump & all the horrifying & evil things he does!
Government in service of it's people. You say our government should be about making that happen. I agree with you and believe that is as true as the greatest commandment to love one another... Do you have a plan, after we love our families and neighbors, whats next?
It's good to articulate what we should be about but how do we, as a nation, turn back to our roots helping make life better?
It seems theres lots of ideas, but I dont hear the plan.
One thing we haven't done to fight the evil, is, pray. I watch the right, pray til their eyeballs fall out and I watch "us" and we do not. We do not invite the Divine in. I am praying daily, since the election of the new pope and my mom's passing on May 20th, for the Divine to come into to our cause. I am not kidding. Nothing else is working and it's the only Power I know that does change things in ways, that are inexplicable. Sorry, but I am leaning into Goodness with as much assent as I possibly can. Watching the peaceful flank of protesters in LA, rainbow scarves on, singing, "I'll be a sanctuary...." brought me to my knees with tears. The broken cement pieces and bottles flying, did not.
Frank, I follow you all the way from New Zealand. It is certainly not as extreme, but we see the same elements you so bravely confront here as well. Thank you for reminding us constantly what church and government should be (like today’s post), and what it should not be. Take care kind Sir.
Very good points! Although, I think that gender identity is under attack and that we should be open to supporting others who need to be recognized for the persons that they are and see themselves to be including their gender identity.
Dear Frank. I want to thank you for having the LOVE for mankind and our country, for speaking up and telling your story. You didn't have to, but you are telling your story because you care and want people to know how some of people are, because of what they've been exposed to, born into and like everyone, were once innocent of hatred, racism, and everything that is NOT love. I try to tell everyone about you and to listen to your story. I hope that by doing so, I can HELP others gain some truth and insight as to how our country has come to where we are today. I pray that people will just take some time to really stop and THINK. As John Lennon said, "All we are saying, is give peace a chance." THANK YOU, Frank! Keep on the high road and hopefully more people will join hands for a world of better understanding, actions and agape love for one another.

Indeed. If your “politics” cannot serve the trembling hand reaching for bread or the weary heart seeking solace, it is but empty theater.
Love is the first policy. The rest is window dressing for the ego’s cathedral.
May we all remember this before the next circus comes to town.
