There’s a man I met in AA who graduated from St. Thomas University. He can’t seem to stay sober. Sometimes I wonder if it was him that did this to you. I can’t imagine living with this guilt unless you’re high all the time. Has he ever made an amends of any sort to you? I suspect he will not survive long if he doesn’t. The guilt and/or what he does to mask. It must be eating him alive. Karma will bite him in the ass.
I don’t want to give too many details but he’d be about 30 now. Unsure if it’s your guy. We have not spoken since the night of the shooting 8 years ago.
Thank you for the information. The guy I’m thinking of goes by Matt. Of course, he could’ve changed his name, or you could’ve used a different first name in your book.
I think it would be interesting to know what happened to the guy who shot him. How does he live with this guilt?

I speculate about his emotions in the book, but as far as tangible, punitive consequences, he faced none.
