I’ve represented for 53 years now, roughly. And today I put out this call to action and I need everybody’s help to find a way to get someone in touch with me to let’s put this together together on behalf of my disabled American tribe.
I am putting out a Call To Action (CTA) for a Zoom Call for Kamala, by members of my tribe: Disabled Americans! How do I get this thing going? So far this morning, I have contacted my State and U.S. Representatives, who are both familiar with the issue I have of living in a Senior MHP, where our Resident Manager has been flying the American Flag upside down since D-Day, and my Nazi-neighbor next door.
I became disabled at the height of my Paralegal career in 1996, at the age of 42.. Formerly, I worked with two of our nation’s largest and top producing Corporate law firms, from 1989 through 1996, until PTSD knocked me out, and that was quite the one-two punch.
The nature of my disability, at first, was all about the PTSD I suffered from stranger strangulation in 1980 (at age 25), and then it changed into physical disability within the first year, once doctors discovered a clinical reason for my pain, apart from the PTSD. I had the potentially fatal illness of Hepatitis C, which also opened my immune system to cryo-globulins. I no longer have regular use of my feet or hands, though am not wheelchair bound.
It’s been a struggle since 2001, when my husband passed away from LungCancer. He left me a boatload of money, but the crash of 2008, thank you W, stripped most of it away. I am also going to find some way to recoup some of those losses (My annuity is now zero and closed out, and when I started it in 2001, they told me it would be worth about $2 million when I was 70 years old, which I will celebrate September 25th)!
You resonate so much with my husband and I. We met you here in San Diego when you were touring with the Common Good back in the day! I am so glad you are still in the fight and I will be supporting your substack. Awesome podcast and we share the same kind of relationship with our grandchildren as well.
