So the country is to just shrug and accept the claim that there are plenty of Republicans who "love this country" who are qualified for the speakership?
Do they think people can't remember that they supported a criminal in the White House and obstructed congressional business for years? Including political machinations to undermine the Constitution by forcing the acceptance of people who blatantly lied to Congress in order to stealthily achieve a majority that would revoke the rights of women and protect the buying of the government through allowing unlimited individual campaign "donations?"
And now they've come to Jesus and "love the country?"
Puh-lese.
The ultimate goal of the evangelical/republican party is to completely destroy the republic ("drown it in a bathtub"). The republic cannot stand if nobody governs.
This current performance is no accident.
It is purposely destructive.
The whole point in shutting the government down is to get rid of social programs; so get ready: this will go on long enough to allow the stopgap to end, the country to shut down, and YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY that YOU paid for; YOUR MEDICARE that you paid for; and MEDICAID which might be keeping your parents alive, all will end.
This is active sedition. It is not party infighting. It is a coup attempt to bring down the republic.
