I am in an RV parked at something called the Wild Goose Festival that I go way back with. There’s been about 17 of them, usually in some southern hot place.
And I’m speaking today on a topic that I’m calling Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin are both losers. And I’m talking to a progressive audience about the fact that the truth of the matter is that we look at our world today and have to understand that we are in the hands of incompetent fools.
Donald Trump has lost his war. Vladimir Putin is losing his.
How weird that Donald Trump distracted American support for Ukraine by going into a losing war himself, mirroring what Putin did, thinking he could roll into Ukraine and wrap it up in a week.
And these guys are taking the rest of us down with them.
And we have an opportunity in November to send a message to the Republican Party saying we’re mad as hell and we’re not going to take it any longer.
And Trump is trying to mess with the election with mail-in ballots and all the rest of it. He does not like democracy. He challenges it when he loses.
And what kind of hell will break loose if he loses? We don’t know. Will our votes be counted? Will terror and violence from ICE agents and other people accompany the votes? We don’t know.
But what we do know is that if we don’t stand up on this one and vote for Democrats across the board, whether we like the individual candidate or not, as an exorcism against this evil that has overtaken our country, then we deserve what we got.
And we will just keep our own version of Vladimir Putin in power.
Now, he’ll have another couple of years anyway. But maybe with Democrats in control of Congress and the Senate, we can do something about him and the carte blanche that the Supreme Court has given him.
This is not an election. It’s a survival drill.
And I’m a wild goose because I’m going around speaking at different places telling people, look, this is something we have to energize ourselves for.
Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin are both losers. That’s how history will remember them.
There’s only one question. Will they take us all down with them?
