When JD Vance said that the ICE agent who killed an innocent mother of three had absolute immunity, something essential was revealed. And when Trump’s spokespeople, who are actively deforming the Justice Department, the FBI, and every other agency they can reach, spread the lie that this murdered woman was somehow committing an act of terror, they revealed something even more disturbing.
They were using the exact same language as the Ayatollahs and the rulers of Iran, leaders Donald Trump claims to oppose, when those rulers justify killing demonstrators by calling them terrorists.
In Iran, people stand up for their rights. They ask for freedom. And the regime responds by declaring that these protesters are terrorists, infiltrators, agents of foreign powers. The Ayatollahs claim that the United States and Israel are secretly flooding Iran with terrorists, and that those “terrorists” are the ones being killed, or doing the killing.
That lie is now being told here.
It is the same lie our government is telling. It is the lie JD Vance is telling. It is the lie Donald Trump is telling. It is the lie coming from the White House itself.
And the irony is almost unbearable.
ICE and JD Vance are now speaking the language of the Ayatollahs. They are using the same excuses, the same distortions, the same authoritarian logic to justify violence against our own people, people who are demonstrating against ICE, people who are exercising their basic rights.
JD Vance is a liar. And he is more than an authoritarian. He is a totalitarian.
What makes this moment especially grotesque is that Donald Trump publicly claims to be defending the Iranian people against oppression, while unleashing the very same tactics against American cities. The same murderous logic. The same abuse of power. The same inversion of truth.
This is not hypocrisy by accident. It is authoritarianism by design.
